Punk Industrial Catwoman with Las Vegas Neon Venus…inspired by Batman comic books
Neon Venus performing an alternative rock track from their latest CD, "Irresistible". After the release of so many Batman movies and of a beloved Batman TV series (I was a fan once myself), the character of Catwoman, and all the Batman villains are obviously still a drawing force to the movie theatres. Specifically I believe Catwoman is highly appealing to women because they can can identify themselves with the fact that every woman has a side that is really strongstronger and wilder than what anybody can see or detect at a mere glance, and that this side in all of us can come up to the surface if challenged enough. I see it more like a survival skill that can become larger than life, and wilder than life when developed and evolved by a person taking in the character, the myth and the desire to finally stand out and take a stand. It comes from deciding to become someone elseperhaps to leave a weak character behind and embrace the survivor completely, wrapping oneself in such a new personality that the weaker self cannot be detected at allthough it may at times poke to the surface. I thought since superheroes were part of my daily reading life at certain parts of my childhood, and since they have spawned such a fantastic stream of new films and stories, that I would pick one of my favorite characters for our next video, that one of course being Catwoman, if only to bring a sprinkle of a fun imagery to our video. Batman – *Uncut* 60’s TV episode 108 (1 of 3) Catwoman’s Dressed to Kill
This episode first aired on December 14, 1967 and was Earth Kitt's only "solo" appearance as Catwoman. (She returned two weeks later in a Catwoman / Joker teamup.) While Julie Newmar played Catwoman as a sexy and seductive tease, Eartha Kitt's Catwoman seems to be hard as nails, and very tough. Catwoman also now seems to have a big chip on her shoulder.... Look for famous fashion designer Rudi Gernreich in a cameo. (Mr. Gernreich went on to design the uniforms worn on the 70's sci-fi series "Space: 1999".) BTW, for those of you keeping score, this is episode #108 (out of 120) and it aired in Batman's third and final season. (The cheap "sets" are par for the course during the third season.)
Catwoman Batman Returns
For my first attempt in video making I decided to create a video tribute with a famous Tim Burton's film, "Batman Returns". Burton is one of my favourite film director and in 1992 he created with Michelle Pfeiffer the perfect Catwoman. This is a purely fan based video and NO copyright infringement was & is intended.
